Pea Picking Party

Maddi and Danny picking peas.

It was a hot fun day.

We went with Grandma.

This is John and this is John's garden.  He knows my Mom loves peas they are her very favorite.  So we went to learn how to pick some peas. (Olivia wasn't with us this day she was playing with a friend)

It was funny how you thought you would have all the peas out of one area, and look again and there was still more to pick.

Danny reaching for the bucket.

I can't figure out how to turn this picture, but I wanted it on here I think it's cute.  We picked two ice cream bucket fulls.

Hard work pays off!

Danny likes pushing around the wheel barrow!

This Pea Party made Grandma's Day, and we thought it was great too!!!

AND SO.....

Randomness
This old man is on the fence at the ranch.  It makes me smile when I see it.

The beautiful fields in the summertime.  Those yellow flowers are so beautiful next to the green grass.

So if you think you have problems you haven't seen nothing yet.  Until you see what this trap can catch!

A fuzzy lady bug holds on.

This is one of my favorite old homes in Randolph.

This is one of my not so favorite old homes in Randolph.  This is are view across the street from our house.  I do have to say it is unique.  You might ask yourself, is that horse trailer just parked there for the day?  I would have to say it has been there in that exact spot the whole year we have lived here.  It's a good thing we are all different and that I don't have to have a horse trailer in are front yard:)

It don't get much better than this.... Well, I prefer just the good old outdoors....

Blue skies with a few white fluffy moving clouds.
On a warm summer day... love it...

So I often wonder why?  I guess if you had to be tied to a pole?  Well, everybody has a different love of the arts. ( This one is my sisters :)  Although, this one makes me smile too.  There used to be a sign above it that now has faded away.  It read a little behind.  Some days I do feel a little behind........on house work, lawn, weeding, work... and so on......

The day and life of a fisherman

We are off to go fishing!  A day Danny has dreamed about since his birthday when he got a fishing pool!
We went to the ranch to fish in the creek.  The water has been so high that it has been to dangerous to go, so that is why it has been so long.  He has patiently been waiting.

Logan, getting us already to go.  The worms and the lines all part of the process.  I never have fished sitting on a chair before then again I haven't fished since I was younger...

Maddi so excited to try and get a fish.

Danny sometimes was not very effective in his fishing style.  That is wading all around and splashing and talking loud, but he sure enjoyed the day that he has waited for, for a very long time.

It can be a bit boring.  So you have to play in the dirt to break up.

Mom and Olivia writing in the sand.  Olivia was telling Grandma stories.

Olivia did it!!  She caught the first fish of the day.  Well actually the only fish of the day, and boy was she excited.  Look at that big ole fish at least a 10 pound er in fish telling stories!  Right?

She was so excited but not sure she wanted to hold it.  Can you even see it?  The fish that is.

This is the kids coming back for lunch. Libby is still holding on to her tiny fish.

Grandma helped Olivia prepare the fish to eat.

Already to go on the grill, and boy did she think she was a grown up.  She caught and cooked up dinner for us:)

This is it...  The one morsel I got was great.  Mom says there is no better fish than out of the creek and I think she is right.   The fishing day was a bit slow only having caught one fish the 3 or so hours we fished, but like my sister says the fun is building the tent not sitting in it.

I LOVE THIS MAN.  and this day I felt like shouting it out to all the animals around!!!
Thanks Logan for being my best friend.  For sharing this journey of life with me.

Poochie got to come go for a ride with us.  He thinks he is pretty big stuff.

Thanks for all the smooches.  I like them a lot. I'm not sure poochie did he kept his eyes straight ahead. Thanks Logan for the ride.  It don't get better than to be with the one you love.

some summer activities

Maddi's new horny toad that her cousin Savannah gave to her.
She feeds him ants and live flies.  She has had him a week and he is still with us. Logan thinks his name should be Harry, but Maddi says her name is Lisa!

This is Danny's Alien ship.  He worked hard on it and had fun with this creation.

Olivia's driving look out and run for your lives.  She really isn't but she sure has a fun time pretending.  Along with her singing.

Logan and Olivia with the rest of the gang in the back already for a drive in the mts.  We like to drive from Randolph to Woodruff on the back roads.  Notice how fresh and clean we are.

Maddi, Annie, Danny and Savannah
and we are off it takes us around a hour to get there.  This time of year there are lots of gates to open and close.  Any guesses who gets that job?  ME

This is after the ride. We ended up at the ranch.  It was so incredible dusty that it was hard to see, breath and really enjoy the experience.

Danny playing in the Woodruff creek. He loved digging in the dirt and building all kinds of things with sticks, rocks, mud and more mud.

Having a water fight.  Nothing quit like it when it's hot and it was really nice to get that dust off.

Making our way to the creek through a meadow.

Earth to Logan is anybody there?  Zing sure likes to ride and have a good ear scratch.
The fun things about summer is that for the most part your carefree.  We play, spend lots of time together, watch movies, jump, play at the ranch, read books, in Maddi's case lots of them and enjoy being outside. It's fun to wake up without a plan and for the day to take you wherever it takes you.  To be so exhausted from work and play that you collapse in a fresh clean bed with the cool summer breeze blowing in and you drift quickly off to dream land.
