Out on the trail. Stopped for a drink and a snack. We packed on our cart two 5 gallon jugs of water, one cooler for our food and ten 17 pound buckets.

One of the many water crossing we went through.
The first river crossing we meet on the bank were 3 men sang a beautiful song and the crossing was done in silence. Some of the boys and men packed the women across.  The water was really cold and went to the top of my thigh.  It was touching to think we did this in June and they were doing this in October with an early winter, and ice in the river.

Out on the windy, dusty long trails.
We went 17 miles in three days.

We are back from the trek. It was from June 13-17.  We stayed and camped at 6th crossing, and Rock Creek Hollow and went to Martins Cove.  We had about 400 people from our Stake. We were separted into 2 companies.  We were in the 2nd company. We were made up of families.  Most were made up of 8 children 1 baby(doll) and a Ma and Pa.  Logan and I were asked to be a Ma and Pa. It was  neat to get to meet and be apart of such a great family.  We walked 17 miles did 4 or 5 river crossing and then crossed were the water has crossed over the roads.  The water was pretty high this year.  So we didn't get to cross in some of the places the usually cross, and got to cross through more water than normal.  There was one mountain that just the women had to pull the cart.  When we were almost to top of the mtn the men were in a line holding the hats over their chests in silence.  We couldn't talk to each other and they could not help us with our handcarts.  It was very touching and a teaching moment that there were women that had to do this by thereselfs not being able to rely on a man. It made me greatful to have a family of boys and girls and to have the priesthood in our family. Some things I am greatful for a: BED, more than 2 dresses, running warm water, a toilet that flushes, shelter from the 100 mile an hour wyoming winds, food, a car, shoes, warm coats, and blankets.  I am so greatful for the courage of the pioneers. They were strong phyiscal, emotional,  and,spiritual.. My hope is that we can enjoy our journey. That we can learn from the pioneers and carry on in our own pioneer legacies.
